The University of Hong Kong (“HKU”) has achieved a record-high ranking of third place globally in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 for “Education and Training” and sustained its first position in Asia. This achievement reaffirms the position of the HKU Faculty of Education as a global leader in the subject.
Four indicators determine the QS World University Rankings for “Education and Training”: 1) academic reputation (50%); 2) employer reputation (10%); 3) citations per paper (20%); and 4) H-index citations (20%). This year, HKU Education achieved an impressive overall score of 94.3, a remarkable increase from 88.3 last year.
Professor Yang Rui, Dean of the Faculty of Education, expressed his delight at the outstanding achievement. He stated, “This ranking reflects the Faculty’s excellence in teaching, research, and nurturing of future generations of educators, showcasing our influence and competitive edge in the global higher education sector. As we celebrate the significant milestone of the 40th anniversary of the Faculty, this global recognition is especially meaningful and gratifying.”
“My heartfelt gratitude goes to our staff, students, and alumni for their unwavering dedication and support. Our Faculty will continue to promote the development of education both locally and internationally, contributing to making Hong Kong an important global education hub,” Professor Yang added.
